Air Warfare

The Air Warfare Group supports the DOD Deputy Director, Air Warfare. The group works primarily on aircraft and related programs. The aircraft programs include fighters, bombers, trainers, large unmanned vehicles, airborne early warning systems, helicopters, tankers and cargo aircraft. Additionally, the group supports the DOD Director, Operational Test and Evaluation (DOT&E), on self-defense systems for aircraft, including radar warning systems and countermeasures systems, and on command and control and ground-based air surveillance systems. Support for DOT&E is primarily focused on planning and observing tests and reporting on test results. The group also supports DOT&E on issues regarding testing, including resource shortfalls.
