This work aims to identify research areas that will not only affect the manufacturability of quantum sensors today, but also increase the viability of scaled-up quantum computing in the future. We considered a variety of possible quantum sensing and computing platforms and focused on a few representative options: atom chips, nitrogen vacancy (NV) color centers in diamond, and precisely placed phosphorus dopants in silicon.
