The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 required the Department of Defense to sponsor an assessment of barriers to underrepresented groups’ participation in Special Operations Forces, in Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance, in Coast Guard Maritime Security Response Teams, and as aircraft pilots and navigators. This summary describes an IDA study that examined this matter.
