Dr. Hunter joined IDA in 1997 shortly after earning a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the State University of New York at Buffalo. A winner of the Andrew J. Goodpaster Award for Excellence in Research, Dr. Hunter has led projects dealing with some of the most significant issues facing the Department of Defense, the Department of Energy, and the Department of Veterans Affairs and has authored several dozen IDA reports.
Dr. Hunter is a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School program for Senior Executives in National and International Security, a fellow in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Seminar XXI program, and IDA’s representative on the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS) Roundtable.
