The Institute for Defense Analyses' Headquarters facilities and its Studies and Analyses Center FFRDC are located in the Mark Center business park in Alexandria, Virginia. Our primary facility is located in 4850 Mark Center Drive, the SAFETY Act Office is in 2001 North Beaureguard Street, and the Studies and Analyses Center's Cost Analysis and Research Division (CARD) is in 4900 Mark Center Drive.
From Pentagon to IDA Shuttle:
The IDA Shuttle Pentagon stop has been relocated to Metro Bus Terminal, lower level, stop L7.
To get to the IDA Shuttle L7 Parking stop:
- Exit the Pentagon and head to the Metro Bus Terminal that is in front of the Pentagon Metro entrance.
- The IDA Shuttle stops in front of the L7 Shuttle stop every 15 minutes. (Bus Map)
- The IDA Shuttle is a white medium-size bus that has an IDA logo on the side; there is no charge.
- The shuttle leaves the Pentagon (and also IDA) approximately every 15 minutes from 7:20 AM to 6:20 PM. Passengers depart the shuttle in front of the IDA buildings at 4900 Mark Center Drive, 4850 Mark Center Drive, the CNAC Building (4825), and the SAFETY Act Office at 2001 N. Beauregard Street. Please indicate to the driver at which building you wish to be let out.
- Take Exit 4 West (Seminary Road) off I-395 to Mark Center Drive (first light).
- Turn left onto Mark Center Drive.
- For Building 4900, take an immediate left; there is a parking garage next to the building.
- For Building 4850, take the second left turn from Mark Center Drive (at the "T" intersection) and then right onto the access road to IDA. Visitor parking is to the right of the building.
- For Building 2001, continue to the end of Mark Center Drive, turn left at the intersection just before the stop light at N. Beauregard. Building 2001 is to the left and there is a parking garage on the right.
From Dulles Airport:
- Take the Dulles Access Road to I-495 going towards Richmond (to the right).
- Follow I-495 until you see signs for I-395/95 Interchange (395 goes north; 95 goes south).
- Take the exit to I-395 NORTH toward Washington.
- Take Exit 4 West (Seminary Road) off I-395 to Mark Center Drive (first light) and turn left onto Mark Center Drive.
- Follow specific directions above for the building you wish to visit.
From National Airport:
- Follow signs to I-395 SOUTH.
- Take Exit 4 West (Seminary Road) off I-395 to Mark Center Drive (first light) and turn left onto Mark Center Drive.
- Follow the specific directions above for the building you wish to visit.
Visitor Parking:
Visitors to Building 4850 enter the garage through gate on right (for daily ticket users). Take ticket from machine. Parking is free with IDA validation. Bring parking ticket into IDA. Security personnel at the front desk will provide you with a code that will activate the parking gate upon exiting the garage.
There are parking attendants for the garages next to buildings 2001 and 4900 who will hand you a ticket which IDA will validate upon leaving the buildings.
